Antonio Brown is not a Bill

Yesterday night, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that disgruntled Steelers receiver Antonio Brown would be traded to the Buffalo Bills. The move came after weeks of contemplation and confusion about where AB would go. However, about seven hours later, ESPN's Adam Schefter said that no deal was in place and the Bills had simply inquired for Brown. Then, the Bills GM said the same thing.

This move reportedly fell apart because Brown did not commit to playing for Buffalo. He already said on HBO's "The Shop" that he did not need to play football anymore, and that he was just playing for fun. There is a chance Brown did not want to play for the Bills(Who can blame him), and might have threatened retirement. This would have prompted the Bills to cancel any deal that was in place.

Despite not being traded to Buffalo, this move should come as a wake up call for Brown. Like legendary wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald said, Brown should appreciate the situation he is in. He gets to play for a Hall of Fame quarterback, and is surrounded by tons of talent. He should be taking Ben Roethlisberger's criticism well, as it actually might be true. Had Brown been traded to the Bills, he would had to play with a shaky rookie quarterback and be a part of arguably the most depressing franchise in football.

With the Bills, off the list, the amount of potential suitors is getting narrower and narrower. The Titans, Raiders, and Redskins had emerged as frontrunners for Brown last week, and the Steelers said they would like to get a trade done by today. All three teams listed above are in need of a superstar receiver, but do not be surprised if another team also makes a late push.
