Derrick Henry is a bad man

It was possibly the most important game of the season for the Titans. They were 6-6, and a loss would almost certainly eliminate them form any real chance of the playoffs. But against the Jaguars, the Titans proved how dangerous they could be.

All of it started with former Heisman Trophy winner Derrick Henry. The Alabama alumni started things off with a four yard score, and went flying from there. After the defense had a goal-line stand on the Jaguars, Henry ran 99 yards to pay dirt. On this record-tying run, Henry stiff armed two people, and eight Jaguars got within 1.5 yards of him. None of this mattered to Henry in his Marshawn Lynch impersonation.

Henry did not slow down after that, embarrassing the strong Jaguars defense with two more scores, one from 54 yards out. He amassed 238 total rushing yards, a Titans record, and was 17 yards away from out gaining the Jaguars offense by himself. Perhaps more impressively, Henry did all of this on just 17 carries, for an absurd 14 yards per carry.

Not only was Henry's run beneficial for his status, it helped the Titans massively. With the win, Henry kept the Titans in the midst of the playoff race. With the Baltimore Ravens expected to lose against Kansas City this week, the Titans would be tied with them for the final wild card spot. The Titans also have a relatively easy schedule, facing against both the Giants and Redskins before a Week 17 matchup against Indianapolis.

Behind Henry's legs, and their strong defense, the Titans seem to shaping into a team that can consistently put up points. If they keep riding Henry and Marcus Mariota, they have a real chance of saving their season and making the playoffs again.
