In a major 5-1 victory over the San Jose Sharks, the St Louis Blues now advance to the Stanley cup finals. The Blues won the series 4-2, and pulled of a decent upset. During the Regular Season, the Sharks finished with 42 more points than the Blues, and were also dominating the playoffs, The Sharks had a thing going, with the second best power-play in the postseason, right behind the Bruins. However, their demise came at the hands of injury, an unforgiving entity that can end a great team’s season, as well as bad luck.

San Jose had to play with 3 major losses. Erik Karlsson, a player they inherited from the Ottawa Senators due to a groin injury, Joe Pavelski, and Thomas Hertl. They lost a combination of defensive and offensive talents, and it's no wonder why the game was such a blowout. The Blues also went into this game with an away win that had made it 3-2, which gives any team major momentum, and they were now at home with a series lead.

The Blues basically ended the game early when they scored first, and 92 seconds into the game. The momentum was with them for the rest of the game, even after the Sharks Dylan Gambrell scored with 6:42 left in the Second.

Some key takeaways from the Blues was an exceptional power play. Going into Boston, this Monday, they are really going to need it, especially against another superb power-play team. Meanwhile, Boston is going to have to keep up their great power-play kill performances in order to prevent the Blues from dominating like against the Sharks.

Predictions

Boston has home ice advantage due to a better regular season, as well as their previous sweep against the Hurricanes and as a result will probably win the first game. However, the Blues have a great away record and might be able to pull it in and tie the series 1-1.

Going into St. Louis, the Blues will win the third game and take the lead. However the Bruins have proved that losing a game is just greater motivation, especially after their 7 game series against the Blue Jackets, when they were 2-1, but came back to tie 2-2 and later won the series. As a result, the Bruins will win and tie 2-2, and back at home will take the lead and go 3-2 due to the momentum they have gathered.

Despite going against all odds, the Blues will win the 6th game, and it will go to game 7 in Boston. Due to home ice advantage, the Bruins will pull in the win 4-3, but there is a small chance that the Blues can pull of an upset.
