WEEK 11 RECAP

Biggest Blowout: Saints 48 Eagles 7

This game was expected to be a great game between two teams that almost met in the NFC Championship last year. instead, it was a one sided affair the entire game. Drew Brees threw for 363 yards and 4 touchdowns, and rookie receiver Tre'Quan Smith had a breakout game with 150 yards and a score. This game was not even close from the start as the Saints came out hot and never cooled down, and Carson Wentz had the worst game of his career to date. Drew Brees and co. have now scored over 45 points in the past three games.

Next Up:

Saints vs Falcons(Thurs. 8:20)

Eagles vs Giants(Sun. 1:00)

Biggest Surprise: Broncos 23, Chargers 22

This game, called the "lock of the week" last week, ended up as a surprise win for the Broncos. The Chargers gift wrapped the game and handed it to the Broncos as Phillip Rivers committed numerous costly errors, including two interceptions. The Chargers were even given the ball up two and all they had to do was run the ball out, but poor clock management led to the Broncos getting the ball back. Brandon McManus kicked home the winning 34 yarder as time expired.

Next Up:

Chargers vs Cardinals(Sun. 4:05)

Broncos vs. Steelers(Sun. 4:25)

Biggest Disappointment: Panthers 19, Lions 20

The Panthers are now the biggest disappointment two weeks in a row, never a good sign. They desperately needed this win to keep them in contention for the top spot in their division, but with this loss, are now three games back on the Saints. "Riverboat" Ron, the Panthers coach, elected to go for two and take the lead rather than kick an extra point to tie it. However, this was not a smart decision as the Lions still had all three of their timeouts and over a minute left. On the attempt, Cam Newton had all day to throw and an open receiver, but did not set his feet and threw an errant pass over Jarius Wright's head.

Next Up:

Panthers vs Seahawks (Sun. 1:00)

Lions vs Bears (Thurs. 12:30)

Game of the week: Rams 54, Chiefs 51

No question. Nothing even came close. See here for details.

Next Up:

Rams and Chiefs are on a bye.

WEEK 12 PREVIEW

Trash Heap of the Week: 49ers vs Buccaneers(Sun. 1:00)

Without Jimmy Garoppolo, all of the 49ers games seem boring. Furthermore, the Buccaneers are coming off of a loss to the Giants and are starting Jameis Winston, who is not very good. It would actually be better for the 49ers to lose as their chances at the top pick would increase.

Prediction: 49ers 13, Buccaneers 20.

Lock of the Week: Cardinals at Chargers(Sun. 4:05)

The Chargers are coming off a brutal loss to the Broncos but should steady their ship against the dysfunctional Cardinals offense. L.A. is competing for a playoff spot while the Cardinals have their hopes set for the 1st pick in next years draft.

Prediction: Cardinals 14, Chargers 27.

Upset of the week: Giants at Eagles(Sun. 1:00)

The Eagles just got demolished by the Saints and then stomped on for good measure. Meanwhile, the Giants are coming off a resounding victory over the Buccaneers where they scored the most amount of points this year, with 38. If they can keep that hot streak going, there is a legitimate chance the Eagles fall into a deeper hole in the up for grabs NFC East.

Prediction: Giants 20, Eagles 17

Game of the Week: Packers vs Vikings(Sun. 8:20)

The last time these two teams met, it resulted in a tie. This game matters a lot as the winner will have a tiebreaker over the other, and would therefore, have an advantage in the playoff race. Both teams are also coming off losses and look to bounce back. Aaron Rodgers will perform excellently against the Vikings but the poor secondary of the Packers will lead to Adam Thielen and Stefon Diggs having very big games.

Prediction: Vikings 24, Packers 23.
