Two weeks of football are already over. We have had some real surprises, disappointments, and bounce backs already. Today, we will be recapping all that happened in the second week of NFL football.

Biggest Blowout: Patriots 43, Dolphins 0

For the second week in a row, the Dolphins get the honor of being on the loser's end of the "Biggest Blowout" section. They were completely destroyed by the Patriots in week two, and didn't even score a single point. Ryan Fitzpatrick threw two pick-sixes, took numerous sacks, and was eventually benched for the second week in a row for Josh Rosen. Antonio Brown also caught his first touchdown as a Patriots. This was an overall shellacking.

Biggest Surprise: 49ers 41, Bengals 17

The fact that the 49ers won this game was not very surprising, but the way they did it was. Jimmy Garoppolo and company absolutely took the tops off the Bengals defense, and rookie Deebo Samuel had a breakout game. Cincy was pretty miserable on both ends of the field, and Joe Mixon played awfully. San Fran is now one of 9 teams that remain undefeated through two weeks of football.

Biggest Disappointment: Lions 13, Chargers 10

If the Chargers want to be a true contender this year, they need to be able to beat a team like the Lions. Somehow, they were outplayed by Matt Stafford, and the offense never got going. The only bright spot appears to be Austin Ekeler, who is playing extremely well in wake of Melvin Gordon's holdout. Given that LA also had trouble putting away the Andrew Luck-less Colts last week, trouble might be brewing when they play real playoff teams.

Snooze-fest of the Week: Texans 13, Jaguars 12

This was a boring, punt filled game until the last drive. Houston was holding on to a 13-6 lead with Gardner Minshew and the Jags set up for a game winning drive. After Minshew led the Jaguars to a score, coach Doug Marrone elected to go for two and win the game. Leonard Fournette was stopped by an inch, and Houston held on to win. The Texans have not showed much promise this season at all, and it looks like the only way they can elude Bill O'Brien's questionable coaching is with bad coaching on the other end too.

Game of the Week: Falcons 24, Eagles 20

This was an excellent game to put on Sunday Night Primetime. Both teams were evenly matched and went back-and-forth. Facing a fourth and three with just over two minutes left, Matt Ryan threw a screen pass to Julio Jones, who took it 54 yards to the house. Philly had the chance to win the game, but Nelson Agholor dropped a wide open touchdown. Despite the Eagles then converting a desperation 4th and 14 heave, the Falcons defense held on to seal the game.

Week Two MVP: Patrick Mahomes, who threw for 400 yards and four touchdowns in a 28-10 demolition of the Oakland Raiders.

Major Injuries: Drew Brees, torn ligament in thumb, out 6-8 weeks. Ben Roethlisberger, torn Tommy John, out for season. Sam Darnold, mononucleosis, out 2-6 weeks. Trevor Siemian, ankle, out for season.
