In most leagues across the country, this is the key week for your fantasy team. It is the last week of the regular season, and the playoffs are just around the corner. That makes this edition the most important to date. Once again, obvious fantasy football starts such as DeAndre Hopkins or Christian McCaffery will not be featured in this segment. If you have any questions directly relating to your team, email us at netsportsnews1@gmail.com, or DM us Instagram or Twitter.
QUARTERBACKS
“Go’s”
Russell Wilson vs. SF
Wilson has finally played well in Fantasy after having a slow start to the start of the year. In fact, he has thrown for multiple touchdowns in seven straight games. He should keep the streak going against a 49ers D that has allowed 54 points in the past two weeks.
Mitch Trubisky @ NYG
Trubisky is coming off an injury but should be back against the Giants. Before the injury, he had scored over 30 Fantasy points on four different occasions. If he gets the green light to start, he plays a Giants defense that has allowed over 20 points every game at home this year.
Marcus Mariota vs NYJ
Mariota has not played well in the past two weeks but should have no trouble rebounding against the leagues 21st best defense in the Jets, who have allowed over 30 points three different times this year.
SLEEPER - Jameis Winston vs CAR
“No’s”
Eli Manning vs. CHI
Almost every week, the quarterback playing the Bears should be avoided, as they boast probably the best pass rush in the NFL. Eli Manning is no exception from that rule, as his offensive line is bottom 10 in the league, and faces Khalil Mack and Akiem Hicks.
Matthew Stafford vs. LAR
Though this might seem like a good matchup for Stafford against a Rams D that just gave up 51 points, Stafford does not have his two top wideouts. Golden Tate was traded and Marvin Jones was recently placed on IR, so all Stafford can do is throw to Kenny Golladay. This is not ideal as he faces Aaron Donald, Ndamukong Suh, and the rest of the scary Rams front.
Ryan Tannehill vs. BUF
The Bills might seem like a joke at 4-8, but their defense is very good, ranked second in overall team defense. They have also limited quarterbacks to under 200 yards per game. All this adds up to disaster for Tannehill and the mediocre Dolphins offense.
RUNNING BACKS
“Go’s”
Aaron Jones vs. ARI Jones has finally been getting RB1 treatment and is performing exceptionally with it. He has a great matchup versus the Cardinals who have almost no run D, and surrendered two rushing touchdowns last week.
Phillip Lindsay @ CIN
Lindsay has been a fantasy point magnet the past two weeks, totaling over 200 yards and three scores. He should keep the hot streak up against a Cincinnati defense that got ran all over on by Nick Chubb and the Browns.
Austin Ekeler @ PIT
Star running back Melvin Gordon is not playing and all of his 16 touches will most likely fall on versatile back Austin Ekeler. Furthermore, he is playing a Steelers D that gave up 120 yards on the ground to the Broncos last week.
SLEEPER - Gus Edwards @ ATL
“No’s”
Tevin Coleman vs. BAL
Coleman is coming off a 20-yard effort against the Saints and is also playing the number one ranked defense in the Ravens. Keep him safely stored on your benches this week.
Marlon Mack vs. JAC
Jacksonville did not play good defense last week, giving Josh Allen nearly 100 yards rushing. However, they should rebound nicely against the Colts, as they held Mack to just 38 yards the last time the two teams met.
Adrian Peterson vs. PHI
Peterson has been in a down slump this year despite receiving all the touches in the backfield. He will have trouble getting things going again as he will be the center of attention for the Philadelphia defense.
WIDE RECEIVERS
“Go’s”
DJ Moore vs. TB
Moore has actually been Cam Newton’s number one target in Devin Funchess’ absence and should continue to see the bulk of the targets from the receiving position. He is also playing a bottom five secondary in Tampa.
Tyler Lockett vs. SF
Lockett just had 106 yards and a score versus the Panthers weak defense and should have the same comfort as he faces a very poor Niners D who allowed over 200 yards receiving last week.
Marquez Valdes-Scantling vs ARI
MVS was listed as a “no” last week and only had one catch, but should bounce back as the Cardinals do not have much secondary outside of Patrick Peterson, who will go man to man with DaVante Adams.
SLEEPER - Chris Conley vs. OAK
“No’s”
John Brown @ ATL
Even though he has a good matchup against Atlanta, it might be hard to start him unless Joe Flacco plays. Lamar Jackson has made the Ravens an almost fully running team, with Brown getting only one catch last week.
Larry Fitzgerald vs. GB
Larry Fitz has been extremely hard to trust this year as he has had to deal with a rookie quarterback and a different offensive coordinator. He also goes against rookie Jaire Alexander, who is in contention for DROY.
Sterling Shepard vs. CHI
Eli Manning has hardly looked Shepard’s way the past few weeks, focusing nearly all of his attention on Odell Beckham and Saquon Barkley. That trend should stay the same as Shepard faces the touchdown machine Eddie Jackson and the Bears secondary.
TIGHT ENDS
“Go’s”
Eric Ebron @ JAC
Ebron is one of the best pickups at the moment due to Jack Doyle being out for the season. The Jaguars also had a terrible game against Ebron last time they played, as he scored 2 receiving touchdowns and a rushing touchdown.
Jimmy Graham vs. ARI
Even though Graham has not been the most reliable Tight End this year, the Cardinals have one of the worst defenses in the league. Plus, Rodgers has a knack for spreading the ball out well.
Jared Cook vs. KC
Despite being on the Raiders, Cook has been getting the ball a lot in the last 2 games. Meanwhile, the Chiefs defense is one of the worst in the NFL right now.
Sleeper - Gerald Everett @ DET
“No’s”
Evan Engram vs. CHI
Engram did not get a single catch last week against the Eagles. To add on to that, the Bears defense is extremely strong, and they should be able to to lock down Engram.
David Njoku @ HOU
Njoku might’ve had an amazing game against Cincinnati, the Texans defense has been powerful since their 0-3 start earlier this season.
Austin Hooper vs. BAL
The Ravens’ defense is ranked number one in the league. Also, Hooper is coming off a bad game despite a relatively easy matchup. Keep him on your bench this week.
DEFENSES
“Go’s”
Packers vs. ARI
The Packers are facing off against the Cardinals, who have the lowest total offense this year so far. Meanwhile, the Packers defense has been decent this year, and should have no problem stopping Josh Rosen and the Cardinals.
Eagles vs. WAS
The Eagles are facing off against a Redskins team that lacks their quarterback, Alex Smith. They should have an easy time getting to the quarterback, as the Redskins have had the most O-Line combos this year.
Titans vs. NYJ
Whether it is Josh McCown or Sam Darnold who starts, the Titans should have an easy time against the Jets. McCown played decent in the first half against the Pats, but struggled once he faced a pass rush. Darnold will be playing injured and he also leads the league in interceptions with 14.
SLEEPER - Bills @ MIA
“No’s”
Raiders vs. KC
The Chiefs offense are third in total yards, and are looking to crush the Raiders after their bye week. In comparison, the Raiders defense has overall struggled, and haven’t been able to close out games, or they just fall apart at the beginning.
Lions vs. LAR
The Rams have among the top three offenses in the league. Meanwhile, the Lions defense looked lost against 10 year journeyman Chase Daniel last week, who was making his second career start. Bench Detroit.
Cowboys vs. NO
The Saints are the highest scoring team and Drew Brees does not look to be showing any signs of old age. Despite a strong pass rush, the Cowboys secondary will be overmatched by the strong New Orleans offense.
