The games that will take place during the 2018-19 Champions League Quarter-Finals have already been determined as crowds look forward to the face-offs and to support their favorite team. Without further ado, here are the draws for the UEFA Champions League Quarter-Finals and Net’s predictions as to what will happen in these exhilarating matches.
Tottenham Hotspurs vs. Manchester City ( 1st leg: 4/9; 3:00 PM)
Manchester City seems the favorite to win this match. Although both sides seem to be equally matched, especially with Tottenham’s strong offense, Manchester City has a better overall team. With Sergio Agüero and Leroy Sane as the forwards and Kevin De Bruyne in the midfield, not only can City combat Tottenham’s offense, but with their adept defenders, they can also surpass the Spurs. Moreover, being crowd favorites to win the Champions League gives City a bit of an advantage mentality wise.
Liverpool vs. Porto ( 1st leg: 4/9; 3:00 PM)
In this case, Liverpool is heavily favored to win, by fans and analysts alike. Even though Porto is second place in the Portuguese league, Primeira Liga, Liverpool is first place in the Premier league beating Porto in both rank and league prominence, and, yet again, the crowd favor may overwhelm or discourage Porto giving the Reds the edge on them.
Ajax vs. Juventus ( 1st leg: 4/10; 3:00 PM)
Despite the fact that Ajax bested Real Madrid taking advantage of their imperfections, they may not be able to measure up to Juventus. With Ronaldo’s performance gaining momentum since his hat-trick in the Champions League Round of 16, Juventus’s performance has only gotten better, and, as a result, they are predicted to win. Meanwhile, their defense is something that was overlooked during their comeback. They kept the shots under 5 and kept total possession.
Manchester United vs. FC Barcelona ( 1st leg: 4/10; 3:00 PM)
This game’s prediction involves a deep analysis not only of the players but also their past games. With five-time Ballon d’Or winner Messi at the center of their plays, Barca would be favorites to win in this match-up. Nonetheless, having beaten PSG, arguably one of the best teams in Europe, in the Round of 16, the Red Devils also have a shot at victory. However, in deeper analysis, Barcelona, on top of being crowd favorites and doing better in their individual league, also has better players overall which give them the edge over the Red Devils, which is why Barca is predicted to head to the Semi-Finals. However, Pogba returns back to the Champions League and this will be a Messi vs Pogba head-to-head.
