After former Real Madrid player and soccer legend Zinedine Zidane returned to being the manager of the Spanish club, due to being offered £300m in transfer overhaul, he vowed to fix the many problems that had been plaguing Real Madrid and their performance on the field. As a result, major reforms in the roster were anticipated to be made as the opening of the summer transfer window came into sight. Now, with only a couple of weeks left until the season ends, Zidane is said to be having one-on-one talks with his players regarding their presence in the club next season.
Madrid forward Gareth Bale, center-midfielder Dani Ceballos, and defensive-midfielder Marcos Llorente are reportedly amongst the first players to be informed of their planned absence in the club next season.
Bale’s performance has not been the best this season. After joining Madrid in 2013, the Welsh footballer fit in with the elite squad at Madrid. However, similar to this season, his poor performance in the 2016/17 season got him into trouble with Zidane, who was also the manager back then. Nonetheless, because Zidane left before the summer transfer window opened, he was unable to act on the obvious problem. Now that he has returned, Zidane plans the transfer of Bale, who has scored only half of the goals he did last season. In fact, Zidane has already started to take action on this matter by having Bale sit out in Madrid’s game against Villarreal last weekend. It seems that Bale’s absence at Madrid in the next season is almost inevitable.
Similar to Bale, the quality of both Ceballos and Llorente’s performance is diminishing. As a result, Zidane has reportedly briefed them of their vacancy at Madrid next season. Also like Bale’s case, both midfielders have had a lack of playing time and have been made accessible for a transfer to another team.
The new manager is also said to have spoken with defender Marcelo Vieira. Nonetheless, unlike Bale, Ceballos, and Llorente, Marcelo is reportedly going to be staying at Madrid next season.
With these reforms made, Zinedine Zidane is looking to solve the crisis Real Madrid is facing. These transfers are sure to make enough room and money for more elite players to join the new Madrid and restore the club to its once glorious state.
